Dating and the Single Life...

So being single I have begun to think about dating. I've gone on a few dates since I got back home to the U.S. However, I haven't been putting too much into it since I have been more worried about getting a steady stream of income and completing schoolwork.

I'm in a slightly weird place right now. In Korea it was fairly easy to meet people. Making new friends kind of followed a pattern of "You speak English? I speak English! Let's be friends!" But here in Nashville that isn't really a valid way of meeting people. So I decided to do something that I had kind of tried before. I went online. So there are those well known sites like eharmony or match.com but you also have to pay for those. I'm not willing to do that, lol. I found a few other sites that you don't necessarily have to pay for a subscription to get in touch with people. I haven't made a ton of connections because I'm way too cautious for that.

Regardless I have been talking back and forth with one guy who I will name 'Y'. He is, surprise surprise, Korean and getting his Master's in Virginia so he's a bit far from me but it's not impossible. We've been talking back and forth and recently moved to phone talking and will perhaps be meeting up in a few weeks for the first time. This is not a completely new experience for me but it is still an interesting one. Now that dating is going cyber it's a bit easier to meet a ton of people at once but it is harder to know the true deal. Pictures can be faked, credentials can be faked so we'll see what's real when the time comes...
