Korea reunion...

So last week I took a trip to DC/NYC/Gatlinburg. While in NYC I got to see two friends who I hadn't seen since we all left Seoul, South Korea at different times. First I met back up with my friend from university TY.
I met TY when we were both attending college in Tennessee. She graduated the year before me and together with our mutual friend she moved to Seoul and started teaching with Chungdahm. She was one of the major reasons I came to Seoul thanks to her prodding^^ She left months before my contract ended and moved back home to NYC. I hadn't seen her since then and it was great to finally meet up. The chemistry of our friendship hasn't lessened at all. I stayed with her and her family in Chinatown for the two days I was in NYC.
Then there is Medina.

She is the first black friend I made in Korea and we totally met by accident, lol. We just happened to be sitting at the same coffee shop in Gangnam and the friend I had with me started talking to her. After a few months we became really really close and still communicated a lot. She also moved back home to NYC. She's planning to possibly come stay with me for the Christmas holiday....I hope so.

It was awesome getting to have a reunion with some of my Seoul friends. It's crazy to think that I woudn't have known Medina had I not gone to Seoul. And now she is one of my closest friends. That just gives me hope that friendships can definitely survive distance. I have lots more pictures from DC and NYC and posts to upload but for now I have to get ready for work. Perhaps next time I'll even post a picture of oppa and I from our trip to Gatlinburg for Labor Day weekend *^^*
