Self Cooking Lesson #1: Kimchi bok keum bap

So I have decided, because I seriously doubt I'll even come close to being a submissive wife I've decided that I will at least be one that can cook extremely well. Since the first person that will really be sampling my cooking is my Korean-American friend S.M. I've decided that I will teach myself how to cook Korean food. From living in Korea I'm familiar with lots of different foods and seasonings but I've rarely tried to cook them for myself. I've always just improvised and made whatever came to mind. No more. I'm going to begin learning to cook specific dishes and decided to begin today...

1) Gathered my ingredients: kimchi, rice, onion, red pepper paste

2) Cut onions and grill them in a pan. I used olive oil since I am out of sesame oil...
3) Because my kimchi wasn't pre-cut I cut it into strips myself and added them to pan of onions. I also added a little bit of salt since I am a sodium freak...
4) Add rice, red pepper paste and sesame oil if you have some (I added extra virgin olive oil) and stir together...
VIOLA!!! You have made your very own kimchi bok keum bap. Unfortunately I realized I was out of eggs which I put on top but otherwise it tastes damn yummy=^^=
Stay tuned for my next meal: dwenjjang chigae!!!
