Military Ball and New Years...

So my New Years was pretty damn awesome. I stayed home and 3 friends came over and we partied like rockstars before hitting up the outside fun. It was pretty cold that night and with all the cops, drunk people and taxi waits we decided we wouldn't go downtown but instead....go to a.....strip club.....-GASP- Yes, my first one EVER. Now in my defense it wasn't my idea but I decided to go anyway because I had never been and I wanted to know if it was as seedy as my mind thought it would be....and really....it wasn't. I mean yes there was an ATM, yes there were neon light, and poles, and naked women. But I guess there with my other friends it didn't seem so bad. I doubt I'll be going again but I can check it off in my notebook of things I've done in my lifetime.

After that I headed up to Clarksville for a New Years dinner that was KOREAN!!!! My friend Min's mom cooked a Korean meal of deokmandugook and I had some galbi, homemade kimchi, seafood pancake...-sigh- I was so happy. It was great to hear and get to talk in Korean again. Min and I talk a little in Korean...mostly in his sleep he starts muttering in Korean "Just let me sleep a little more" and something else I can't remember. His mom even knew where Pyeongchon was!!! It made me sooooo happy which lets me know that Korea is most definitely in my future, one way or another.

The next weekend was the military formal in Kentucky where the snow was seriously coming down. Now, it wasn't as much as Seoul...actually not even close. But for the south it was a substantial amount. Plus it got so damn icey at night making it hard to walk in 3-inch heels. But I had a good time dancing, eating and meeting some down to earth Army men. Gotta say....I think I have a thing for Army men now....-sigh-...those arms, stature....loving it, lol. Who knows, maybe a Korean Army man is in my future, LOL.Well anyway, other than financial issues that have been plaguing me I've been having a pretty great 2010. I've got 2 job interviews and orientation for substitute teaching this week so hopefully things are starting to look up for me. Hope everyone is having a great year so far!!!
